About the WalkWe are proud to announce that the 2010 Kids Walk for Kids with Cancer events raised $220,540 for pediatric cancer research at MSKCC, our most successful year yet! In addition, we have reached a very exciting milestone raising over one million since the very first Kids Walk 10 Years ago in the spring of 2001! Congratulations and thank you to everyone who participated and supported the Kids Walk. Together, we ARE making a difference in the fight and cure of pediatric cancer!!! We hope you will be a part of the Kids Walk again next year! Kids Walk for Kids with Cancer is a 4.5 mile walk that supports pediatric cancer research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. The walk is organized by students from more than 25 NYC-area schools (with just a little help from our parents!). We publicize the need for more pediatric cancer research, run bakesales, sell t-shirts, and fundraise in our communities, attracting more and more support for kids with cancer each year. This year, we hope to raise $125,000 through our fundraising efforts, adding to the $775,000 students like us have already raised since 2001! |
We ask walkers to try and obtain sponsors - sponsors can donate online (just click on Donate Now) or bring checks written out to "Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center" on the day of the walk. We request that walkers who are not sponsored make a contribution of $20 at the check-in table the day of the event. Get together a group of friends, and register a team! You can create and personalize your team's home page, and each participant can create his or her own fundraising page.

MSKCC has devoted more than a century to patient care as well as to innovative research, making significant contributions to new and better therapies for the treatment of cancer. Kids Walk for Kids with Cancer funds research which is used to find new treatments for hard-to-cure pediatric cancers.
